YES ACHIEVER’S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

A talent search program to select and mentor 20 students for high achievements. The recipient of YES Achiever’s Scholarship Program shall be provided following:

Grant of Scholarship

Students will be provided scholarship of Rs. 1,500/- per month for one academic year, i.e. from July’11 to April’12.

Enrollment into Yes Achievers Program

YES Achiever’s program is a long term personal development program that starts with carrying out Personal and Professional Qualities Assessment, followed by the identification of spiritual, family, social, physical & intellectual goals. An integrated action plan is drawn up backed by Capacity Building & Time Management Plans.

A dedicated counselor works with youth to help achieve objectives. By the end of the program the youth would be a role model for the community having realized his or her full leadership potential.

ELIGIBILITY

Educational Qualification:

1. Candidate must be a student of class VIII to graduate course at a government recognized school / university / institute.

2. Candidate must be 1^st /2^nd /3^rd topper of class or have scored minimum 75% in last academic session (2010-11)

Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 13 years and maximum is 22 years.

Domicile: Those who fall in any one of the below mentioned categories are eligible to apply.

1. Pursuing studies at Jamia Millia Islamia, Jamia Hamdard or Aligarh Muslim University or their schools.

2. Resident of Jamia Nagar (Delhi), Hamdard Nagar (Delhi) or Aligarh

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Applicants need to submit the application form along with the following enclosures at the YES Resource Center.

1.An essay (typed) in not more than 300 words (may be English/ Hindi/ Urdu) justifying your consideration of the scholarship.

2.A Recommendation Letter of Principal/ Head of the school/college.

Attested Photocopies of following documents would be required to produce at the time of interview.

a.Mark-sheets

b.ID proof with photograph

c.Address proof

d.Admission slips of the pursuing course.

e.Certificates of extracurricular activities (if any)

f.Annual Income Certificate / Proof

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Candidates are required to apply according to the mentioned application procedure.

After screening of the applications, eligible candidates would be called for interview. The final selection of the candidate would be based on the joint decision of the members of selection board.

However, selection of the candidates would be on the basis of the merit and need. The preference shall be given to students having good academic background, belonging to minority community, low family income, studying professional courses, sportspersons (minimum state level), Girl candidate, or regular participant in YES Programs.

The renewal of the YES Achiever Scholarship Program from year-to-year is subjected to good conduct and fulfillment of set academic performance.

EXPECTATIONS FROM AWARDEES

· Awardees have to work on one of the Community Network Projects as part of YES AAA and have to give minimum 3 hours in a month / 36 hours in a year.

· Awardees have to take up the YES Achiever Program for his/her complete character & career development.

- Have to attend 3 counseling sessions for the self assessments, identification of goals & the framing of action plan.

- One has to commit him/herself to follow the derived action plan and meet counselor quarterly for progress review.

- The performance during the year must exceed the previous year performance.

- The efforts made by the awardees and the outcomes achieved would be reviewed and evaluated for the next year’s renewal of the scholarship.

· YES Achievers being part of YES AAA will further sponsor scholarship after settling in career / life. It is essential for YES Achiever to be a sponsor as YES Achiever’s scholarship is a grant to the community; it is to be recycled for ongoing benefit of other needy students.

IMPORTANT DATES

· Application Forms Available from: 21^st July’11 (Thursday)

· Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 7^th August’11 (Sunday)

· Announcement of Candidates Selected for Interview: 9^th August’11 (Tuesday)

· Dates for Interview: 10^th-13^th August’11 (Wednesday- Sunday)

· Announcement of Candidates selected for Scholarships: 15^th August’11 (Monday)

Note: Distribution and submission of application forms would be held at YES Centre.

RULES & REGULATIONS

· The NMF reserves the right to make changes in these terms and conditions as it may consider necessary.

· The NMF also reserves the right to reject any application after due scrutiny. The decision of the NMF in this regard shall be final and binding.

· A candidate would be provided only YES Achiever’s program & no financial assistance shall be given under following cases:

- The one who will be receiving any Scholarship from any other institution.

- The one who accepts any remunerative job during the tenure of the Scholarship.
